BikePark Wales has been steadily working on improvements, and with spring bringing more settled weather, several key upgrades across the park are now complete. From a shorter uplift road and faster-loading trailers to refreshed trails and a brand-new downhill line, here’s what’s been happening at BPW.

Uplift updates
After years of planning and navigating permissions, BPW has created a new cut-through on the uplift road. The route now takes less time, allowing more efficient travel back to the top and increasing overall lap potential throughout the day.
Newly designed uplift trailers have also been introduced. They load 50% faster, better accommodate a wider range of modern bike sizes, and reduce the need to shuffle bikes around. These changes are already making a noticeable difference to the uplift experience.
Trail news
With fewer storms and a solid dry spell, the trail crew has been able to get stuck into maintenance and upgrades across the park. Here’s a summary of what’s been updated:
- Surfin’ Bird: Improved flow and rebuilt berms bring smoother riding while keeping the original character.
- Pork Belly: Refreshed jumps and a tidy-up ahead of the busier season.
- Wibbly Wobbly: Tweaks to alignment allow better speed carry without losing its unique feel.
- 50 Shades of Black: Fully reworked and reopened with a fresh layout.
- Lower Boomslang: The new black DH trail used recently in a timed session with some of the UK’s top downhill racers.
- The Martian: Further updates expected soon — details to follow.
