Exciting Plans have been put forward that could see the existing mountain bike trail network at Lochore Meadows Country Park extended, adding more than two kilometres of new riding.

A proposed certificate of lawfulness has been submitted to Fife Council for the formation of new mountain bike trails within the park. The proposal would extend the current facility by around 2,295 metres.

According to the application, the new trails would be constructed as an extension of the routes already in place at Lochore Meadows. It also states that the proposal would include an extension of the ancient woodland at Harran Hill.

The submission adds important context around land management. While the land is owned by Fife Council, it is currently under tenancy to a local farmer. The application explains that Fife Council’s Estates Team is in the process of renegotiating the lease in order to bring the land back under the management of the country park, allowing the proposal to go ahead.
