Wednesday Dig with Dean Trail Volunteers

Dean Trail Volunteers are bringing back their women’s only dig sessions in the Forest of Dean, with a run of 2026 dates focused on the red section of Verderers Descent. The sessions are set up as a welcoming, supportive space for women and girls to learn trail maintenance and building skills, get involved with hands-on trail work, and spend time outdoors.

The dig days will focus on clean-up work and adding fresh technical features on the trail. Dean Trail Volunteers say all women are welcome, children can attend too, and there will be a walk uphill plus physical trail work involved. Children can help with lighter tasks such as sweeping, clearing mud and tidying up, but must be supervised by an adult at all times.

The current listed dates are Sunday 22 March, Saturday 9 May, Saturday 13 June and Saturday 4 July. Spaces are limited and sign-up is through Eventbrite.
