Description

Les Deux Alpes mountain biking trails (also known as Les 2 Alpes Bike Park) are in the French Alps. It has Downhill tracks, XC trails, Slopestyle Freeride Bike Parks, 4X, and a pump track. It's most famous for the 9-day Crankworx festival it hosts each year.

Les Deux Alpes has 31 tracks (5 of which are XC). There are 5 black, 7 Red, 7, blue, and 3 Green MTB DH trails. The vertical drop is 2480 m (which is pretty huge) all set across 110 km of trails and served by 10 chair lifts.

Blue DH

  • The 7 blue graded runs step it up a gear. The Landri is quite technical with loose rocks. La Fee is 6km long with 630 metres of descent. The Diabla is one of the smoothest to start on. It is 7 km long over with 650 metres of vertical descent,

Red DH

  • 7 red graded trails. This includes the Venosc, 3 km long with 700m of vertical descent.

Black DH

  • There are 4 black trails and 1 elite trail.

L2A - lovely high valley

Been the last 2 summers and always struggled to live in the van in a car park which is not normally the case in the Alps. There is a huge number of trails here, the high valley has trails on both sides, as well as off each end downwards with good lift access meaning you can do all 4 compass points from the town. My favourite is the Venosc trail (south) but 666 is also pretty good. Once a year you can also ride some walkers paths as part of the Mountain of Hell which is like the MegAvalanche but more extreme - yes MORE EXTREME! Its the reason I've been there for the past 2 summers. The venue also has hosted Crankworx Europe always a great week, and has hosted an EWS round in 2013 which I raced as well. Best thing though is the views, its superb. I wouldn't go just for this one park, I think there are better in the Alps. Up the road there is also La Grave only 40mins away - if your at L2A at least have a day at LaGrave! Alpe D'Huez is also less than an hour away if you need a change.

What do you like?

Its the Alps! Venosc trail Mountain of Hell Views

What could be improved?

Also busy with skiers even in mid-summer. Not a good town to try and wild-camp or #Vanlife it, you will get moved on.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*
