The Track
- This is a BMX race track. A start hill drops onto straights of hard-packed rollers and jumps, joined by asphalt berms.
- Rotherham Council backed a project in 2020 to re-establish the club here with regular race practice, so riders can work up to local novice races and on to regional and national racing.
The Club
- Rotherham BMX welcomes riders from age 4 upwards, of every ability.
- From April to October the club usually rides on Thursday evenings, in slots by coaching level, and from November to March on Saturday mornings. Sessions depend on the weather and on coaches being available, so check the club's Facebook page before you travel.
- Coaching is around 7 pounds a session for members and 8 pounds for others, with helmet hire at 3 pounds and bike hire at 5 pounds. Annual membership is around 20 pounds. Prices are subject to change, so check the club site.
- Riders must wear long sleeves and full-length trousers.
- Club races are open to all standards. You do not need a British Cycling licence, but you sign a waiver and register by 8pm the evening before.
