Description
The North Bike Track in Victory Park, Cainscross, is a free pump track and jump line in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Cainscross Town Council had B1KE rebuild the old 1980s track in 2025, with a pale, hard-packed surface of compacted earth and aggregate topped with limestone.
The Track
- A circuit of rollers and berms for all abilities, ridden by pushing and pulling through the bumps rather than pedalling, so it suits balance bikes through to adults.
- There is also a separate jump line for more experienced riders.
- The surface is compacted earth and aggregate with a limestone topping, so it is hard-packed rather than asphalt.
- Non-motorised bikes only: motorised bikes rut the surface. The council recommends BMX bikes or hardtails with smoother, non-aggressive tyres.
- Built by B1KE, who dismantled the old track and reshaped and reused its materials for the new one. It was paid for by Cainscross Town Council, a public crowdfunder and grant funders. The council looks after the track.
Local Groups
- Access Bike, a youth space and community bike workshop run by Creative Sustainability CIC in Stroud, has taken groups to the track since it opened and has run sessions there for new riders at the council's request. Contact the team through its website if you are a school or group wanting a session.
Getting Here
- Victory Park is on Lower Church Road, Cainscross, Stroud (GL5 4JE). The public car park on Church Road beside the park is the closest parking, and it can get congested, so leave room for other drivers.
- The park also has a play area and a large playing field, so there is room for the rest of the family.
