Description
Stillington Pump Track is a compact asphalt pump track on the Mount Pleasant playing field in Stillington, a village in the Stockton-on-Tees borough. Built by Dirtworks BMX for Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, with the support of Stillington and Whitton Parish Council, it is one flowing circuit of rollers and berms, free to ride, next to the village's games court.
The Track
- An asphalt circuit of rollers and berms, with painted coping lines on the berms and arrows marking the direction of travel.
- It was designed with beginner and intermediate routes, for bikes, skateboards, scooters and adapted bikes.
- Dirtworks BMX call it maybe the smallest build they have ever done, packing a lot into a tiny space: "up and downhill yet flows like water".
The track was part of the parish's 2017 Community Plan, which asked for better facilities for children and young people. It was funded by developer contributions from the nearby Jasper Grove housing development, which also paid for the games court.
Also in the Park
- A floodlit multi-use games area with basketball hoops and goals, opened in 2024 and reached by the same lit footpath as the track.
- Open playing field with football goals.
Getting Here
- Mount Pleasant playing field: off Mount Pleasant Walk and Mount Pleasant Grove, Stillington, TS21 1LR. A footpath from Mount Pleasant Grove leads down to the games court, and the track sits beside it.
