Description
Skipton Pump Track is a compact asphalt loop of berms and rollers in Aireville Park, Skipton, North Yorkshire. It sits in a public council park beside the skate park, with a children's play area nearby, and its size makes it a friendly place for beginners and balance bike riders to learn the basics.
The Track
- A compact asphalt loop of berms and single and double rollers, set among trees with grass mounds around it, so laps come round quickly.
- The Friends of Aireville Park, a community group that worked with the council on the park's facilities, helped bring the pump track to the park.
Also in the Park
- Aireville Park is a 20 acre public park at the heart of Skipton, open all year and looked after by North Yorkshire Council.
- A wheel park for BMX, skateboards and rollerblades sits beside the pump track.
- Children's play areas and a zip wire sit close to the track, and there is a multi-use games area for football, netball and basketball.
- Revive cafe serves hot and cold drinks, ice creams, snacks and meals, and Craven Leisure Centre, with its pool, gym and cafe, is next door.
- Skipton parkrun uses the park on Saturday mornings, so expect it to be busier then.
- Raven Tree Top Adventure, a high ropes course, is in the woodland behind the leisure centre.
Getting Here
- Aireville Park is on Gargrave Road, Skipton BD23 1UD. Park at Craven Leisure Centre next to the park and walk past the skate park: the pump track is just beyond it, among the trees. There are also a few spaces just off the main road. Check the signs for any parking charges.
- The park is just north of Skipton railway station and a short walk from the town centre.
