Pump Track
The asphalt track combines rolling sections, linked berms and gentle gradients that allow riders to generate momentum without pedalling. It’s been shaped for accessibility and confidence building, suiting a wide range of abilities and wheels — from balance bikes through to BMX and adaptive users. The track sits seamlessly beside the existing skatepark, forming a single hub for local action sports in Swindon.

Events and Community
The West Wheels Track project was championed by councillors Suresh Gattapur and Tim Makofu, supported by community donations and a grant from Crapper & Sons Landfill Ltd. The official opening, hosted by West Swindon Parish Council, brought together families and local riders to celebrate a new inclusive space. The track continues to be a meeting point for skill building, social sessions and family rides across Wiltshire.
Location and Access
The track is located within the Rivermead Skate Park site in Westlea, West Swindon, with access from Bridge Mead Close or Rivermead Drive. The surrounding park includes green open space, paths and nearby parking. Designed to accommodate “all kinds of wheels” including wheelchairs, skateboards and bikes, it’s one of the region’s most inclusive outdoor recreation facilities.
