Some if the best Uk DH/freeride

All in all, go there.. certainly the best venues for DH in south west and its been described as some of the best in the UK. Well scaled trails mean its not downhill specific and certain trails can be ridden on just about anything. Great passionate people Bacon sandwiches available Training available on site by a current world cup downhiller, you need to book in advance but hes pretty cheap for a full days tuition. Cheap!!! @ £5 a go or £40 for a year its cheap and all money made goes back into the site...

What do you like?

Stunning views and beautiful woodlabd surround both sites. The trails themselves are painstakingly build a dedicated team of experienced volunteers and no matter what your skill level there are full trails to ride. Obviously if your Steve Peat then this is a very small venue but for most of us... its a great mix of trails and a solid and supportive community. I have not met a single rider not willing to chat and have made some great friends. My favorite part is tavi woodlands though, less racer focused than most of gawton and often quieter, there are trails amongst trails and awesome little features tucked away on offshoot lines... I have been riding tavi woods for over a decade and still find new stuff when I explore.

What could be improved?

Few if any bad points really, both sites are fairly easy to find but woodlands could certainly benifit from a postcode added to the website or even just gps coordinates for the carpark and better signage. As the place is volunteer run you can sometimes find that a few of the trails are in need of repair in places, especially in December - March in the bad weather... it does always get done but it can take time.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*
