Clawford Lakes Pump Track is a purpose-built pump track inside Clawford Lakes Resort and Spa, a 98 acre holiday resort near Holsworthy on the Devon side of the Devon-Cornwall border. The tarmac track opened for the 2026 season and is designed for riders of any age, from first-timers learning to pump and carry speed to confident riders linking flowing laps around its rollers and berms. Mountain bikes, BMXs and scooters, plus helmets and pads, can all be hired on site at Reception, so a bike doesn't need to travel down with a guest.

The Pump Track

- Works on a mountain bike, BMX or scooter, and can be ridden pedal-free once a rider gets a feel for the rhythm.
Bike Hire
Clawford Lakes hires mountain bikes (20 inch and 14 inch, for all ages) at ยฃ15 a day, good for a relaxed ride around the resort, a scenic route nearby, a family ride from the lodge, or a lap of the pump track. BMX bikes and scooters (ages 6 and up) hire at ยฃ10 a day and work on the pump track too. Weekly rates are available for guests staying off-peak, helmets and pads are included with any hire, and bookings are made at Reception.
Getting Here
Clawford Lakes, Clawton, Holsworthy, Devon EX22 6PN. The resort sits in an unspoiled valley around 15 miles from the A30, less than 30 minutes from Bude in Cornwall. Head to Reception on arrival to check in and book bike hire.
The pump track and bike hire are amenities for guests staying at the resort rather than a public, drop-in facility: there's no day-visitor pass advertised for any activity here, and the venue's own FAQ confirms fishing, at least, is guest-only. Check directly with Clawford Lakes (01409 678018) before planning a visit if you aren't already booked to stay.
Beyond the Pump Track
Clawford Lakes is built around 17 stocked fishing lakes, with carp up to 30lb, alongside an outdoor pool with flumes, a spa, kayaking, paddleboarding and open water swimming, archery, boules and a MUGA pitch. Accommodation ranges from lakeside lodges and floating cabins to hot-tub retreats, with the Apple and Grape restaurant and bar on site for food and drink. Dogs stay free year-round.
