Description

Burlish Bike Park is in Stourport, Worcestershire. It has beginner, intermediate and expert jump lines, a dual track and a family and trike track with a skills area option. It's run by Open Trail cycling charity. With a 30+ year history it was rebuilt in 2023.

Burlish Woodland has been the home of Burlish Dirt Jumps for over 30 years and the vision was to transform the 16-acre woodland into a new protected cycling facility.

The Rosie Route - Green

  • A 500m family trail/trike trail that's 2.5m wide with minor ascents and descents. This green-graded trail is suitable for all wheel sizes and disability-adapted bikes and trikes.
  • It features avoidable elements like small table jumps and skinny log balance beams.
  • In memory of Rosie Young, a local young woman who had a great love of bikes, a really beautiful person inside and out, her talents and personal qualities were endless; above all she had great ambition to help others.

Cooper's "Let's Go Racing" Dual slalom track - Blue

  • A blue-graded, two-lane track designed for head-to-head gravity-assisted riding. Suitable for most ages and abilities, all features can be rolled, with jump combinations and transfer lines available for more advanced riders.
  • In memory of Andrew Cooper a great 4X and downhill racer and commentator. A man who left our sport and world far too soon, a great energy and fun loving person who loved nothing more than riding, supporting others and seeing everyone having a great time.

The drops

Two drops located on a right-hand turn off the family trail:

  • One 30cm drop
  • One 70cm drop

Project5

  • A trail featuring a small table, hip jump, leading into table/double combinations, designed to introduce riders to their first gap jump.

Moto

  • All gap jumps, steeper and shorter than black line 2, catering to dirt jump and BMX enthusiasts.

Tables

  • A progression of 9 tables that start small and gradually increase in size.

Wishbone - Red

  • A more challenging red-grade trail with bigger jumps and more table/double combinations. This trail shares the same landing as the black lines.

Mains

  • A trail featuring all gap jumps, less steep but with bigger gaps, designed in a more mountain bike style.

Other Stuff

  • A club house/snack bar and toilets
  • An inclusive off-road cycling club
  • Coaching for all (including  specialist coaching for disabled groups, educational needs and disaffected youth)
  • A volunteer program for all; both cyclists and non-cyclists
  • Specialist coaching for disabled groups/educational needs and disaffected youth
  • Open Trail which took over the management in Sep 2020 is a registered charity (1190929) established to encourage young people, of Worcestershire and the West Midlands, to strive for more than they think possible, despite their own personal circumstances.
  • Its founder is Hannah Escott, GB Cycling Team Racer 2015-2018 and the 2016 and 2019 Women’s World 4X Mountain Bike Series Champion.
  • To date they have secured over £140,000 in funding (Places to Ride - £110,000, Activate Your Space - £10,000, Crowdfunder - £22,270)
  • The Build is via the awesome @fortetrailscapes team.
