Description
Bike Trial Academy UK is a non-profit bike trials club and trials park at Copy Yard Farm, Longstowe, in South Cambridgeshire. It runs regular pay-to-ride sessions twice a week, with trials bikes to hire, for children and adults of every ability, from first track stands to competition riders.
The Trials Park
- A dedicated bike trials park, where the riding is slow, technical and about balance and control: riding over and between obstacles without putting a foot down.
- The sections are set out across a grass field on the farm: concrete beams and slabs laid over earth mounds, a steel container with planks running up to it, an old bath set into the ground, timber logs and pallet boards, and a pile of logs.
- The sections are built by the academy's resident trainer, Charlie Rolls, a world champion trials rider who has ridden trials since the age of six and competed around the world.
- The park hosts national competition: a round of the British national trials cup was held here in 2025, and the academy runs its own Trials Jam weekend.
Sessions and Prices
- Regular sessions run on Thursdays from 4pm and Saturdays from 11am. Other days can be arranged by message.
- Book in to ride by text on 07971 285039. Sessions can be called off in poor weather, so check the academy's Facebook page for current times before you travel.
- Riding costs ยฃ10 for adults and ยฃ5 for under-18s, payable by cash or card. Trials bikes in a range of sizes can be hired for ยฃ5.
- New riders fill in a new rider form before their first ride, and every rider signs in on arrival. Under-18s must be signed in and supervised by a responsible adult.
- Helmets are compulsory for all riders, and youth riders must also wear shin pads. Riders stay within the bike park.
- Drinks and snacks are available at the Hub, the academy's cabin beside the park, with picnic tables outside.
