Description
Barnsley Youth Activity Park is a council-built wheeled-sports park behind Base71 Youth Zone, a short walk from Barnsley Interchange in the town centre. It has an asphalt pump track, a beginner-friendly bike track, a large concrete skate park and a parkour area.
The Track
The pump track is part of a wider wheeled-sports setup designed for regular local use, and it sits beside the skate park bowls rather than apart from them. It has an asphalt surface. Triton Construction was the main contractor for the park, which was co-designed with local children and young people.
The park also has a bike track, described by the council as beginner friendly.
The Skate Park
Next to the pump track is a large concrete skate park made up of several linked areas, with bowl sections, transitions and connecting lines. Barnsley Council describes it as suitable for all levels, and it is the work of Bendcrete Skateparks.

Getting Here
The park is on Schwäbisch Gmünd Way, Barnsley, S71 1DS, behind Base71 Youth Zone. Barnsley Interchange, the town's bus and rail station, is just across the road, which makes it an easy trip without a car. Under-18s travel free on buses through the council's MiCard scheme.
