Description
Alnwick Freeriders Bike Track is a community bike track on the eastern edge of Alnwick, Northumberland, with a pump track, a jump line and a push-up track. It opened in August 2018, and the idea came from young people and youth workers at the Gallery Youth Project in the town.
The Track
- A pump track of rollers and banked turns, with a separate, longer jump line and a push-up track alongside.
- A 122,000 pound community project, completed in August 2018. Northumberland Estates made the land available, Groundwork North East played a big part, and the funding came from SUEZ, Sport England, the Community Foundation, Northumberland County Council and local councillors.
- Information signs at the track set out the recommended safety equipment, so read them before riding.
Getting Here
- Fisher Lane, Alnwick, NE66 2EY. The track is on the eastern edge of the town near Allerburn Lea, beside the sewage works and close to the A1. The public rights of way to the site were upgraded as part of the project.
