Women's MTB Where To Ride

The UK is full of amazing MTB trail destination and for all levels and all abilities. Many have great facilities also.

No longer are the mountain bike trail options restricted to between choosing either a remote red (intermediate) technically graded trail with just a portaloo to hand or riding a trail where you have to travel long distances to get to to then get a map and compass out.

In recent years there has a been an explosion and investment in green (beginner and family) and blue (novice) waymarked trails across the country to complement the red (intermediate) and black (expert) mountain bike waymarked trails.

In addition the disciplines on offer have grown. New centres covering a broad choice from Downhill, Bike Park, Pump Track and Trail Centre bases have popped up.

Also there has been an additional significant investment in facilities too like bike cafes, decent toilets, bike washes and hire shops, in the last few years.

At the last count there were 56 green trails, 100 blue trails, 118 red trails and 81 black trails to choose from in the UK. There is a handy trail map here on the site to help you navigate trails local to you. Using this trail map you can search by postcode, town, ability level, discipline (be you a downhiller or trail rider etc) and facilities.

We also have a good introductory article here titled "Finding The Right Mountain Bike Trail For You" guiding you on the different trails on offer across the whole the UK.
