Description

Preseli Hills Mountain Biking

The Preseli Hills MTB trails are wild, natural riding across the ridge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in Pembrokeshire, Wales, following bridleways over rolling hills, open moorland and rocky outcrops. There is no formal trail centre or waymarking here, so download a route or use GPS navigation before you set off.

The Trails

  • The riding is bridle-path based rather than singletrack, crossing rolling hills, open moorland and stone outcrops. The ground can be boggy in places, especially after rain, so conditions are best in drier spells rather than any one fixed season. Climbs are long, with descents that are smoother, gentle and grassy. On the north side of the hills, old quarries add some singletrack.
  • The main riding follows the ridge from Crymych to Cwm Gwaun, with a number of routes dropping off it. The most popular option heads south to Rosebush.
  • For a detailed route write-up, see TrailGuru's Preseli Hills guide.

Getting Here

  • The best access point is Rosebush, where there is a car park and the Tafarn Sinc pub. From Haverfordwest, take the B4329 towards Cardigan, then the B4313 signposted Maenclochog, following the brown signs into Rosebush village. Two good circular routes start from here.
