Description
Foel Gasnach Downhill Mountain Bike Trails
Foel Gasnach was a members-only downhill mountain bike base in the Clocaenog Forest near Ruthin, Denbighshire, run by the Foel DH Riders (FDHR) club on Natural Resources Wales land. FDHR has confirmed the site is closed indefinitely and riding here is no longer permitted. Four downhill tracks were built here in stages, covering a range of abilities, with an uplift service while the site was operating.

The Trails
- Track 1: the first track built. Never formally graded, but regarded as the hardest, with rooty, very steep terrain.
- Track 2: the entry-level track.
- Track 3: a demanding intermediate track.
- Track 4: steep and twisty, with small drops and a gap jump over a stream.
The tracks were numbered in the order they were built rather than the order riders came across them on the hill: Track 2, then Track 4, then Track 1, then Track 3.
Getting Here
The former base was off an unnamed road near Cyffylliog, Ruthin, Denbighshire (LL15 2DR). The site is closed and riding is not permitted.
