Great place to spend the day. Some trails due a facelift however.

Coedy is great fun if you're looking for a long day out on the bikes riding some techy, rocky, singletrack. With lots of differently graded trails, Coed Y Brenin caters for all types of riders at all skill levels. The skills area and freeride pumptrack are a great thing to have right at the car park, and serve well as a warm-up/down, or even can have the whole day spent on them. Awesome area with a great centre with all the facilities you could ever need, with plentiful parking at a not-too-expensive price (considering how much they offer). The trails at Coed Y Brenin are lots of fun if you like singletrack with lots of roots, rocks, technical stuff etc. However they don't really offer much else, other than the freeride area near the carpark. A lot of the trails are very natural, and have been shaped by the weather and by people who ride them, this is great until you get to the skills/ freeride area. I remember when it was first built, it was really nicely built, smooth, everything flowed nicely. Sadly now, especially so on the freeride trail, the corners, jumps and track surface in general have been worn down very badly, and it almost ruins the track. Berms are worn down to rock and gravel (which makes them very bumpy and slippy to ride), the jumps no longer have much of a 'kick' to them anymore, and the whole thing is very badly overdue a facelift and a bit of TLC. Aside from that, all the other trails could probably do with a bit of a looking after, but aren't so bad due to their natural theme.

What do you like?

-great for days out on the bikes -fantastic trail variation (for difficulty and length) -epic place, nice centre with awesome views -very natural and technical trails -very well thought out and made skills development/ freeride area next to car-park

What could be improved?

-not much to offer other than technical singletrack -some trails badly worn and need maintenance -often feels like you do a lot of climbing for not much descent -only one car-park ticket machine at far end of car-park -very little security for visitors

Would you recommend?

Yes
