Description

Caersws Bike Park is a private, uplift-served downhill venue at Henblas farm, just north of Caersws in Powys, mid Wales. It runs five tracks, from two single red diamond flow lines up to a triple black diamond jump line. Every visit is by advance booking only, uplift runs most Saturdays from 10am to 4pm, and full-face helmets are compulsory.

The Trails

  • Freeride (Single Red Diamond): Fast and flowing, the trail to start your day on, with progressive jump lines leading into the Dragon's Tail.
  • Quarry Line (Single Red Diamond): A revamped red with fast berms, lipped tables and endless flow, finishing with a drop back to the uplift pickup.
  • The Dragon's Tail (Double Black Diamond): Formerly the Welsh Champs track and once part of the Dragon Downhill Series, with a road jump, big berms, tight corners, roots, drops, gaps and the Caersws tunnel. The Lower Dragon's Tail section, opened December 2025, finishes right at the uplift pickup.
  • Scorcher (Double Black Diamond): The steepest and most technical track at Caersws, formerly the NPS track, with steep switchbacks, drops and big jumps. It hosts national-level downhill races.
  • Helfare Highway (Triple Black Diamond): The park's hardest jump line, branching off Freeride with doubles, hips and the Helfare step-up across 15 jumps in total.

Trail building continues under Danny Bateman, previously of Revolution Bike Park. Caersws is about 30 minutes from Dyfi Bike Park.

Facilities

  • Toilets at the sign-on hut

Getting Here

The bike park is at Henblas farm, off the B4569 just north of Caersws village in Powys. From Newtown, head through Caersws and continue for about a mile. Just before the railway bridge, turn into the farm entrance and follow the white signs up the farm track to the sign-on hut. The postcode is SY17 5JE, listed on Google Maps as "Caersws downhill uplift", so download a route or use GPS navigation before you set off.

The nearest railway station is Caersws, on the Transport for Wales Cambrian Line, about a mile from the farm entrance. The venue is booking-only, so most riders arrive by car.
