Expensive, busy, hard to get booked onto, but the UK’s best
Does seem that every accountant and their ebike descends on BPW every weekend now, and it has the braking bumps to show for it! But you can’t deny it has some of the longest trails in the UK and certainly the biggest selection. I would happily offer £100 to anyone who can ride every trail in a day at BPW!
It does mean it’s a lot to maintain, and so often trails are shut or just a bit worn out. Also to make the trails more robust to the amount of use they get, the trails rarely feel natural. But the landscape is beautiful and there’s guaranteed to be a big variety of trails to suit all capabilities!
What do you like?
So many trails! There’s limitless possibilities on what to ride here. BPW wins for blue flow trails for sure
What could be improved?
Lots of heavy traffic and lots of trails to maintain can result in lots of braking bumps or trails closed for maintenance. The crowd isn’t always as friendly as other bike parks too. I also wish they bought back the old ad-hoc uplift system again, used to enjoy paying a fiver after lunch to get to the top of the hill and slowly work your way down after, now you have to keep checking at reception if they have single use tickets to sell
Would you recommend?
yes
