Laggan - remote and thrilling - come prepared
What do you like?
- Technical challenge. The red route is a hard red - rock gardens galore and the lower red section feels like a natural trail (good bonus). I love the switch back flow of the second section of the upper red but others I know think this goes on a bit long - also the rocks to protect the side of the trail can be rather unnerving (don't want to land on one!)
- LOVE the freeride orange at the end, awesome berms and table tops
- The black is meant to be superb - one of the most techy blacks around, not my thing though!
-Climbs are not too harsh so it is easy to repeat loops/fav sections.
- Laggan is remote (by trail centre standards anyway) which means your pretty much guaranteed a quiet day on the trails.
- Great little food van in the summer months (venison burger anyone?) check the FC website though before going to see if it open.
What could be improved?
- Shame there is no bike shop these days
