Description
Jedforest Trails is a community-developed network of waymarked multi-use trails around Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders, on the edge of the Cheviots. The trails are shared with walkers and horse riders throughout and range from challenging long-distance routes to shorter loops for developing riders. There are no trailhead facilities — Jedburgh town is the base, and it has a good range of cafes, pubs, shops and accommodation. Route maps are available to download from jedforesttrails.org.

The Trails
- The Justice Trail (40km, challenging): The headline route, starting from the Canongate car park and looping through ancient woodland, open hillside and Border countryside with views throughout. With over 10 escape routes back into Jedburgh, it can be tailored to suit distances from 5km right up to the full 40km. Includes berms, jumps and flowing singletrack sections.
- Dere Street Dash (10.5km, moderate): A family-suited route named after the old Roman road that runs through the area. Most of the climbing comes early on tarmac and forest road, with some steeper descents and rocky sections in the latter half.
- Lanton Wood (6.5km and 3.8km loops): Two loops in the woodland above Jedburgh with berms and jumps, well suited to riders building their skills and confidence. Good for younger riders and those new to singletrack.
- All trails are waymarked but a map or downloaded GPX is recommended as signs can be easy to miss. Trails are shared with horse riders and walkers, ride with consideration throughout.
