- Most of the trails are on Strathfinella Hill, and Black Hill on the opposite side of the road from the North Drumtochty Car Park.
- They are easily accessed by trails a hundred yards or so up the road from the car park, turn either right or left as you exit.
- The terrain is loamy, and fast draining. Many of the trails are short, but they are close to each other so can be linked up.

- The routes to the north side of Glen Drumtochty road also provide a way of accessing Fetteresso Forest and its mountain bike routes.
