The Tracks
- The tracks are predominately technical enduro-type trails that are Black graded runs (they have hosted multiple Enduro events)
- Technically expect steep and twisty trails with roots, rocks, berms, chutes, jumps and drops
-
Ballo Woods trails are mostly named after curries, with the increasing spice associated with a higher-difficulty trail (see below)
- A list of the track names are: Ballo 1, Ballo Fast n Furious, Ballo Halfway Fire Road Link Path, Ballo North Climb, Ballo South Climb, Ballo Summit Link, Bhuna, Corona, Dirty Dog, Forest Grump, Former Jump Line, Korai, Korma Top, Laird's Loch Main Path, Laird's Loch To A923 Path, Loam or mud?, Master Blaster, Middle Line (ALT), Northballo Original, Rista, Spicey Bits, Stage 4, Start Me Up, Trail, Trail, Twenty's Plenty, Vindaloo, Vindaloo - Right Fork
- There are 15 black tracks, 3 red and 4 blue
-
Next door is Hallyburton Woods with flowier trails, a nice contrast to the tech on Ballo. You can cover both hills in one ride, though you may prefer to do one hill at a time for maximum laps.
Other Stuff
- The local trail association is the Tayside Trail Association
