Description
The Nevis Range Mountain Bike Trail Centre is on the Nevis range in the Lochaber region just north of Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.

It is made up of a multitude of top MTB trails offering a mix of Downhill and XC for all abilities. It is famous for being home to the World Champs course and the only center in the UK with a Gondola. There are three Downhill tracks and a multitude of Cross-Country trails in the Lower Forest area.
Downhill Tracks
World Cup Downhill (Orange) - Gondola Accessed
- The only way to get up this trail is by the Gondola. It is open March to September and shut outside those dates as well as on race days and bad weather days. It is the UK's only World Cup DH track.
- The trail is graded extreme and is 2.82km long and has a descent of 555m. It's steep, fast, full of rock gardens, tight steep corners, big jumps, drops, shore, exposed sections, and woodland sections. It ends in the Nevis Range car park.
Top Chief – (Black Graded) - Gondola Accessed
- The only way to get up this trail is also by the Gondola. It has drops, rock slabs and fast boardwalk.
Nevis Blue Doon – (Blue Graded) - Gondola Accessed
- Longest blue in the UK this is full of flow for intermediate riders.
Berminator (Blue)
- Lower trail blue-graded flow trail is designed for maximum fun and now serves as the official finish to the iconic Blue Doon.
Cross Country- Lower Forest
- The Lower Forest Witch's Trails are open all year round and start from the Nevis Range.
The Voodoo (Blue Graded)
- For novice riders with berms and flowing descents.
Blue Adder (Blue Graded)
- The Blue Adder blue-graded cross-country descent is 3.1km long, is a mix of wide single track and gently bermed wide boardwalk, followed by a series of flowing twists and turns. It has mini features to encourage the skills of budding downhillers while remaining in keeping with cross country trail standards. There is a 2km forest road climb as part of the route that is then followed by the 1.1km descent.
World Champs route (Red)
- This trail was built for the World Champs and World Cup circuit is graded red and is 8.5 km long running through the Leanachan forest. It has many technical sections and given the terrain has tough ups and fast descents.
Wild Goat – (Red Graded)
- Fast and full of berms, it’s the perfect end to a rough lap down Top Chief. There is also a side option to ride the World Cup 4X track.
Black Crane – (Black Graded)
- Steep, fast, rock gardens, natural feel and rooty
Cackle – (Black Graded)
- Steep, natural, rooty and a rock gardens
4X
- the 4X is black graded with big jumps and gnarly turns. 4 riders can race side by side.
One Dot – Orange Graded
- A beginners jumper line within some gentle berms. All the jumps are rollable.
