Description
Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails are near Ardpatrick in County Limerick. It is the largest MTB centre in Ireland. The trails range from the moderate 6km Greenwood loop to the demanding Castlepook loop, which is over 50km. There are 96km of trails in total.

Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails
- There is a mixture of tight twisty singletrack, technical rocky sections, boardwalk and sweeping fast descents. The trails are laid out in 5 loops with each loop leading into the next.
- The loops are the Mountrussell Loop, Garrane Loop, Streamhill Loop, Greenwood loop and the Castlepook loop.
- 6kms in length. Moderate technical grading. It is one gradual climb followed by one long descent with all but 1.5 km of the loop on narrow, twisty singletrack trails.
- 17kms in length. Difficult technical grading. This is a more technical version of the Greenwood Loop. The trails become a bit more technical, narrower, rockier and steeper with more climbing and more descending.
- 35kms in length. Difficult technical grading. The singletrack is technical in places with numerous very tight turns, steep descents and features such as small rock steps, exposed roots and elevated timber boardwalks.
- 41kms in length. Severe technical grading. This is a long ride in a remote area with some long steep climbs and technical singletrack descents with numerous features such as tight turns, small rock steps, steep sections and exposed roots and includes some of the most technical riding of the centre.
