Work begins on Phear Park pump track in Exmouth

Work on a new 120m pump track at Phear Park in Exmouth begins on 26 October 2026, funded by Exmouth Town Council and expected to take around seven weeks.

East Devon District Council has announced that work to install a new pump track at Phear Park in Exmouth begins on Monday 26 October 2026. The track is going in alongside the improvements already under way at the park's play area, and the council's design shows a 120m track.

The area northeast of the skate park will be fenced off for around seven weeks while the work is carried out, with construction traffic coming into the park from the northeast for the pump track and from the southwest for the play area. The council says the work is weather dependent, and that it will share updates on progress and reopening arrangements.

Who is paying for it

Exmouth Town Council is fully funding the pump track. East Devon District Council is funding the wider play area upgrade, with Section 106 developer contributions from the town council, following a public consultation in 2025.

What else is planned

As well as the pump track, the plans include a new wheeled sports training area. The council says the two will give people newer to wheeled sports space to build confidence before moving on to the existing skate park. The multi-use games area is being renewed too.
