Tame Valley Mountain Bike Association (TVMBA) has shared that Tameside Council has approached them to ask if there is still community demand for a pumptrack in the area.

TVMBA have been advocating for a pumptrack in Stalybridge (Tameside) since 2022. Now that the conversation has been reignited, they are calling on local riders, families, and supporters to make their voices heard. The more evidence of public support, the stronger the case.
Over on their Facebook post, the response has already been strong — with dozens of comments from parents, youth leaders, and riders of all ages backing the idea.
Many highlight the lack of local facilities, the need for accessible outdoor spaces, and the wider benefits of encouraging healthy, active lifestyles. Some have even suggested possible locations such as Sandhills or Stamford Park.
If you live in or near Tameside and want to see this happen, you can support the campaign by commenting on the Facebook post.
Let’s help amplify their message. Local riding communities need spaces like this — and when councils reach out, it’s the perfect time to show the demand is real.
