The Trail Accessibility Award – supported by Shimano – is now accepting applications. This initiative from IMBA Europe is aimed at trail crews and community groups with ideas to make mountain biking more inclusive, beginner-friendly, and approachable.

This award recognises the best pilot project idea aimed at creating or improving a beginner-friendly, accessible trail—designed to welcome new and young riders into mountain biking. The winning project will receive a Shimano-supported microgrant to help bring their idea to life and inspire more people to start their trail-riding journey.
IMBA Europe Trail Accessibility Award: Now Open for Applications
Applicants are encouraged to submit pilot project ideas such as a redesigned flow trail, a new green loop close to town, confidence-building features for first-time riders, or access improvements for adaptive bikes.
The winning project will receive a €2,500 microgrant to help bring the idea to life. Potential uses for the funding include resurfacing worn trails, installing skill-building features for young riders, or adding signage to make trails feel more accessible.
Deadline to apply: Sunday, June 15th
