Tavi Woods NO MORE But Gawton Gravity Hub REMAINS

Until recently, both Gawton and Tavi-Woods downhill mountain biking sites near Tavistock in West Devon were run by the volunteer club Gawton Gravity Hub. In July, Gawton Gravity Hub announced they would no longer be running Tavi Woods with plans to start demolishing it (Tavi-Woods) around the end of August. For absolute clarity, Tavi Woods is shut but Gawton Gravity Hub is NOT closing and has no plans other than going from strength to strength.

Like this?

So why is Tavi Woods (not Gawton Gravity Hub) shutting doors? It is the age-old story of multi-user conflict as well as contaminated land, a ban on machinery to maintain the trails, and a loss of substantial riding area and the car park over the past few years.

Here is the announcement below. What's clear is their commitment continues for Gawton.

With these events there is always a rich back story full of heroes, 1000's of hours of work, a passionate community, and tough calls. It's emotional to many and it should be, more it would frankly be weird if it wasn't. None of us outside that community know the depths and turns of that story. Here at iBikeRide, I thank Gawton Gravity hub for the incredible work they always have done and continue to do for MTB. Respect.

And here is a vid of how awesome Gawtong Gravity Hub is (which ISNT shutting and is STILL OPEN:)
