Tarland Trails Drummy Woods – Tarland, Aberdeenshire is set for a major refresh, with its red, blue and pump track areas due for an overhaul in the coming months. The work will be led by experienced trail builder Rik Allsop, alongside local volunteers and the Tarland Trail Maintenance Officers (TTMOs).

Trail Revamp
The update focuses on the existing Drummy Woods network, which has begun to show signs of wear. Planned improvements include:
- ⛏️ Rebuilt trail surfaces for smoother, safer rides
- 🎢 Reprofiled trail lines for better flow and progression
- 🪨 New features designed for skill development
This revamp is supported through the Take Care Of Your Trails – Trail Accessibility Award funded by IMBA Europe and Shimano MTB. The work will also serve as a skills-sharing opportunity, helping to train and strengthen the local trail crew for future maintenance and development.
Looking Ahead
The Orange jump trail will not be part of this phase but is planned for a larger redevelopment at a later stage.
