Shimano and IMBA Europe Join Forces to Boost Mountain Biking

Shimano has partnered with IMBA Europe in a three-year collaboration. This partnership aims to enhance sustainable trail management and further develop mountain biking through advocacy and education.

Key Highlights of the Partnership:

  1. Shimano Trail Born Fund: This initiative will support trail projects across Europe, with plans to expand to North America and Oceania. The fund will focus on opening new riding areas and improving existing trail networks.
  2. DIRTT Program Support: The partnership will bolster the Developing Intereuropean Resources for Trail builder Training (DIRTT) program. With Shimano's backing, DIRTT is set to become a certified, Europe-wide trail builder program by 2026.
  3. Sustainability Focus: Shimano emphasises sustainable trail design and construction techniques to minimize environmental impact while expanding trails for riders of all skill levels.
  4. Collaborative Approach: IMBA Europe will work closely with Shimano to identify priority projects and ensure effective use of the Trail Born Fund.
