Saracen and Firecrest MTB have teamed up to relaunch the Firecrest MTB – Saracen Young Rider Development Programme (DeVo) for 2025. The initiative, led by respected coach Ian Warby, aims to nurture young talent in UK downhill mountain biking through structured coaching, race support, and mentorship.

The programme has a long-standing legacy in the UK scene, operating from Rushmere Country Park after adapting through the COVID-19 era and the closure of Aston Hill. For this new chapter, Saracen is providing their flagship Saracen Myst downhill bikes, while partners like Madison Clothing, Lazer, and Shimano offer technical and race-day support.
“We are genuinely thrilled and immensely grateful for the support from Saracen, Madison Clothing, Lazer, and Shimano,” said Ian Warby, founder of Firecrest MTB. “Their backing means a great deal to both myself and the young riders. With such fantastic partners behind us, we’re all excited for the season ahead and eager to see what our talented team can achieve.”
Each rider on the Firecrest MTB – Saracen Young Rider Development Programme (DeVo) team will receive a full downhill race setup and gain access to expert mentorship, mechanical support, and the opportunity to train and race at the highest level.
The 2025 DeVo line-up includes:
- Lucienne Turner (15) – Making waves as a fast-progressing and committed young female rider.
- Ollie Laurie (16) – A returning DeVo rider with strong big-mountain confidence and race pace.
- Hugo Burleigh (13) – A first-year Juvenile with impressive freestyle flair and racing instinct.
- Henry Kirby (12) – A consistent podium finisher with a sharp competitive edge.
