On Track has been confirmed as the contractor for the new Sandy Hill pump track in Farnham, with a public design unveiling event now scheduled for January.

Waverley Borough Council has approved £110,000 in Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding for the project, following a public consultation that attracted more than 1,100 responses, with almost 90% in favour.
The council says the track is intended for bikers, scooter riders and skateboarders of all ages, with an asphalt surface made up of rollers and banked turns.
On Track confirmed as builder
The council says it has commissioned On Track to design and build the Sandy Hill pump track. On Track’s project page describes the scheme as a spring 2026 build and says it will be used to keep the community informed as the project progresses.
On Track has become well known for delivering pump tracks and bike facilities across the UK, often combining rollable lines with more progressive options at other sites. However, no final design for Sandy Hill has yet been published.
Design unveiling event
Residents are being invited to view the latest design and learn more about the project at a public unveiling event, which the council says reflects feedback gathered during the consultation process.
- Date: Thursday 8 January 2026
- Time: 5pm to 7pm
- Location: Hale Youth and Community Centre, 130 Upper Hale Road, Farnham, GU9 0JH

What On Track’s involvement could mean
With On Track delivering the project, attention is now turning to what style of layout will be revealed. While On Track is known elsewhere for clean, flowing layouts that sometimes include optional jump lines, no specific features have been confirmed for Sandy Hill.
The January unveiling is expected to be the first opportunity for the community to see how the design has evolved and whether those elements form part of the final layout.
Designing a community pump track typically involves balancing rider age and ability, progression, flow, available space, and ongoing maintenance. Budget can also shape what is achievable, including how complex the layout can be, how much groundworks and surfacing is required, and what supporting elements are included around the track. The council says the design has been updated following consultation feedback, with the January unveiling expected to show how those considerations have been reflected.
A return to Farnham’s BMX roots
The Sandy Hill site has a long cycling history. In the 1970s, the area hosted national-level BMX finals, drawing large crowds and becoming a recognised part of Farnham’s cycling scene. That earlier track later fell into disrepair and became constrained by environmental protections.
For many residents, the new pump track represents a modern continuation of that legacy, creating a multi-use riding space for a new generation while reconnecting with the area’s past.
Next steps and timeline
While funding is secured, the scheme has previously been described as conditional on planning permission being granted by 1 April 2026. If permission is not secured by that date, the allocated CIL funding could be lost.
