The final Sandy Hill pump track design for Farnham has now been unveiled, with On Track confirmed as the contractor. The council says the track is intended for bikers, scooter riders and skateboarders of all ages, with an asphalt surface made up of rollers and banked turns.

On Track confirmed as builder
The council says it has commissioned On Track to design and build the Sandy Hill pump track. On Track’s project page describes the scheme as a spring 2026 build and says it will be used to keep the community informed as the project progresses.
On Track has become well known for delivering pump tracks and bike facilities across the UK, often combining rollable lines with more progressive options at other sites.
Design unveiling event
Residents were invited to view the latest design on 8 January 2026 and learn more about the project at a public unveiling event, which the council says reflects feedback gathered during the consultation process.
The January unveiling was the first opportunity for the community to see how the design has evolved. The updated layouts are now published and available to view below.
For context designing a community pump track typically involves balancing rider age and ability, progression, flow, available space, and ongoing maintenance. Budget can also shape what is achievable, including how complex the layout can be, how much groundworks and surfacing is required, and what supporting elements are included around the track.
The design
The Sandy Hill pump track design is now locked in. The final layout shows a multi-loop asphalt pump track with a clear start area and access path, linked progressive lines, multiple rollers, bermed corners, a step-up step-down quad, a jump box, and a pipe / fly-out feature. The design supports different speeds and line choices, with space to build skills gradually rather than forcing a single fast lap.
A return to Farnham’s BMX roots
The Sandy Hill site has a long cycling history. In the 1970s, the area hosted national-level BMX finals, drawing large crowds and becoming a recognised part of Farnham’s cycling scene. That earlier track later fell into disrepair and became constrained by environmental protections.
For many residents, the new pump track represents a modern continuation of that legacy, creating a multi-use riding space for a new generation while reconnecting with the area’s past.
