Forestry England has opened the new Potato Hill section within the Squirrel Chaser blue trail at Hamsterley Forest, marking a phased update rather than a full extension of the route. The change focuses on a reworked middle segment, adding a gentler climb and short flow-oriented descent aimed at improving ride consistency and accessibility.

Alongside this, Odd Sox blue trail has reopened following resurfacing and berm rework, with the line adjusted to sit more consistently within blue-grade riding.
