Trail Reopening's Round-Up May Bank Holiday 2025

A number of storm-hit or recently closed for other reasons UK MTB trails have now reopened—here’s a quick round-up of what’s back on track.

Like this?

  • The fallen trees on the Dalby Forest black above the big climb have been cleared. The full loop is now good to go.
  • The Cardinham Woods entire cycle network is fully back in action after the storm damage
  • Similarly at Hopton Woods in Shropshire the Pearce XC red route is now officially back open. Unfortunately the warm up loop and downhills remain closed.
  • The red and black XC trails at Rostrevor in Northern Ireland are also now recovered post the storms and have now reopened! (Please note there are still some diversions in place, however many of these will also reopen in the coming weeks).
  • After close to 100 hours of hard labour the Afan 4x track has emerged from the brambles and riding mint
  • Carron Valley red graded Runway and Cannonball trails near Glasgow have reopened with resurfacing and improvement in Scotland after major works forced a temporary closure.

What have we missed? Post in the comments and we will update.
