Limitlass launches the Legacy Fund for MTB training in Scotland

Limitlass has launched the Limitlass Legacy Fund, offering three bursaries of up to £250 to help women and non-binary riders in Scotland access professional development and qualifications in mountain biking.

The fund is aimed at training that builds leadership and professional skills, including coaching, guiding / leadership awards, mechanics / maintenance qualifications (including MTB-specific courses), and trail building courses. Each bursary covers course fees only (up to £250). It does not cover travel, accommodation, kit, bikes, clothing, or general living costs.

What we know

  • Funding: 3 bursaries, up to £250 each, for course fees.
  • Who can apply: women and non-binary people (inclusive of trans women), aged 18+, resident in Scotland.
  • What it supports: MTB leadership, guiding, coaching, mechanics/maintenance, trail building, and other relevant MTB leadership training (case-by-case).
  • Provider: training must be with a recognised provider.
  • How it’s paid: recipients book and pay for their course, then submit proof of purchase for reimbursement (up to £250).
  • Key dates: applications open 14 February 2026; close 31 March 2026 (23:59); recipients notified by 12 April 2026.
  • Timing: intended to support courses taking place in 2026 or early 2027, with completion by May 2027.
