Launchpad has reopened at Forest of Dean Cycle Centre following three months of works, with Forestry England confirming the trail is now open to riders.

Work on Launchpad began in mid-January and included a full trail refresh across its entire length. Two sections were redesigned as part of the project, with rollers near the start reshaped to increase flow, manage speed, and build on what Forestry England describes as the trail's rollercoaster feel. Further down, a straight section has been redesigned to introduce turns and berms. Holes and braking bumps have been repaired throughout to restore a consistent riding surface.
Forestry England is asking riders to take care in the early weeks. The trail surface is described as loose and gravelly at present and is expected to take a few weeks to bed in. The centre says the changes are also worth getting familiar with before riding at pace, particularly the two redesigned sections.
The work was carried out by Velosolutions UK, with support from Dean Trail Volunteers.
This follows earlier confirmation of planned works across both Launchpad and GBU at the centre. A previous article on iBikeRide covered those plans in full, including context on Launchpad's role as a high-use accessible route averaging around 7,500 rides per month.
Forest of Dean Cycle Centre is a purpose-built riding destination in Gloucestershire, offering a wide mix of trail grades and riding styles from green through to black. For full trail information, see the Forest of Dean mountain bike trails listing on iBikeRide.
