The project follows the success of the existing pump track at Battenhall Park. According to the council, the new track planned for Perdiswell will be larger and will include separate loops designed for different ability levels.
Plans show a progression loop aimed at beginners looking to build confidence and skills, alongside a faster loop for intermediate and experienced riders. Design details indicate the track will feature a mixture of single, double and triple mounds, banked turns and flat-topped jumps.
The pump track has been designed to be fully inclusive and suitable for people of all ages and abilities, including users on bikes, scooters, skateboards, adaptive bikes, wheelchairs and roller blades.
The proposed location next to Perdiswell Leisure Centre means the pump track would benefit from existing on-site facilities, including parking, toilets and a café.
Designs for the pump track were shared at a public drop-in event on 17 December, with the council confirming that the plans would also be published online for those unable to attend.
