Gortin Glen, has 30 years plus of mountain bike history with its own off-piste and downhill trails. It was a good while back here at iBikeRide we posted about the plan to build formal trail center tracks. Well, that day is here as they open up 12km of blue/red trails.

The Gorten Glen Mountain bike club
"There has been mountain biking in the Glen's for over 30 years, with the first trail development (carried out by locals) some 27 years ago. The development of official trails in Gortin has been in the works since 2013 but due to various challenges and complexities this project had stalled and looked in danger of never being completed. In December of 2017 there was a meeting that changed this. After this meeting GMTB was initially formed as a committee to liase with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and drive the development of an official trail centre in Gortin.
This led to the official establishment of Gortin Mountain Bike Club in 2018 and from here the club went from strength to strength while building a strong relationship with FODC. The club worked hand in hand to develop and realize the current trail centre which we are proud to announce as OFFICIALLY OPEN!
Given the initial response and reception, we are hopeful that there will be further development and expansion in the future. We are super grateful to have reached this point and have such fantastic trails in Gortin/Tyrone, which alongside the walking trails, scenic viewpoints, and newly installed children's play area it's sure to be a great family day out.
