The new skills area has been designed with young, novice and inexperienced riders in mind, offering a progression space to build confidence. It includes:
- 🚵 Mini mountain biking zone
- 🚵 Roller zone
- 🚵 Cornering zone
- 🚵 Drop and technical zones for novice riders
John Dougan, South Region Manager at Forestry and Land Scotland, said: “This £6 million investment in Glentress has involved a huge effort from the team and has at times been challenging, so I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped make our Masterplan a reality. We have worked hard to make this an inclusive destination with something for families, young people, new and novice riders, adaptive riders and, of course, the wider mountain biking community.”
The Masterplan has expanded the Glentress network to over 72 km of managed mountain biking trails, adding more than 16 km of new routes across all abilities. Alongside the bike trails, new accessible multi-user paths and forest routes have also been created for walking, wheeling and horse riding.
