Dingwall Mountain Bike Trail Group has put out a call for support for a “new trail” at Knockbain, in the Highlands of Scotland, described as a new connection between the Peffery Way and the existing trails above Dingwall.
Like this?
The group says it has been fundraising and building the new link trail, and is asking people to share their Crowdfunder page with anyone who rides bikes: Dingwall Mountain Bike Trails on Crowdfunder.
What riders can already find at Dingwall
Dingwall Mountain Bike Trails sit at Knockbain Farm above Dingwall in the Highlands of Scotland. The current setup includes a jump line, a red descent (Knockbain Red, in two sections: Big Knockers and Chippy Run), and a blue flow trail (Knockbain Blue).
You can find the iBikeRide trail listing here: Dingwall Mountain Bike Trails on iBikeRide.
Why the new link trail matters
On the Crowdfunder page, the group describes the current access as using a public tarmac road up to Knockbain and returning the same way. The proposed new trail connection is intended to link in via the Peffery Way cycle path, with the stated aim of making access safer, especially for children.
What we don’t know
- The exact scope, length, and opening date for the link trail, beyond the general “later this summer” wording
If you have on-the-ground updates on progress at Knockbain, you can share them with the iBikeRide community in the comments
