Located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Dales Bike Centre is continuing its ambitious expansion with an exciting new addition—luxury Mega-Pods for glamping, set to be available from July 1st. This marks the next phase of a long-term development plan that has faced several hurdles, including a major flood, the COVID-19 pandemic, and rising construction costs.

Originally, the centre had planned to build an eight-room accommodation block as part of a broader project that included a new 70-seat café, bike shop, hire store, courtyard, and expanded parking. While the first phase was successfully completed in September 2022, skyrocketing post-pandemic material and operational costs made the accommodation block unfeasible. Instead, the team found an innovative alternative—luxury Mega-Pods inspired by a stay in the Lake District.

These high-end wooden glamping pods offer a perfect mix of comfort and practicality for cyclists and visitors. Each pod features a king-size bed, a fold-out sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, en-suite toilet and shower facilities, TV, WiFi, and a seating area. Additionally, guests will have access to secure bike storage, outside security points, and a private paved seating area with stunning views of the surrounding hills. Two of the four pods will also include outdoor hot tubs for a more indulgent stay.

With planning consent secured from the Yorkshire Dales National Park, groundwork for the pods and additional car park spaces is already underway. The Mega-Pods are set for delivery and installation by mid-May, with bookings now open from July 1st.
