Oneplanet Adventure at Coed Llandegla Mountain Bike Centre has confirmed that the closure of its Skills Area, Pump Track and Freeride Zone is part of a planned redevelopment following recent forestry harvesting around the visitor centre.

“We’ve dreamed for a long time of creating a brand-new, next-level Skills Zone. The recent harvesting has made this possible, and we’re grabbing the opportunity with both hands.”

The forestry works have significantly changed the area near the car parks and main facilities. While the removal of the existing Skills Area will be noticeable for regular visitors, the centre says this has created an opportunity to move forward with long-standing plans to redevelop and expand the skills-focused riding offer.

Plans for the new Skills Zone include:

• a dedicated “Little Rippers” area, 
• a purpose-built coaching zone, 
• new berms and drop-offs, 
• and new jump lines aimed at a range of rider abilities. 

Further elements are also being considered, with more detail expected as work progresses over the coming months.

The update applies specifically to the Skills Area, Pump Track and Freeride Zone. At the time of writing, no changes have been announced to Llandegla’s wider trail network, which includes a large network of waymarked cross-country trails, visitor facilities, café, bike shop and trailhead infrastructure.
