The Bikini Line trail at Swinley Forest is currently closed with fences installed around the jump line and tree trunks placed to block access.

All trail maintenance, design and construction at Swinley is Managed by Earthworx Trail Coin conjunction with The Crown Estate for the last few years. It seems the closure mainly boils down to antisocial behaviour (fights, fires litter, people blowing up deodorant cans on the jumps etc) and incidents. So what happens next be it a full closure, redesign or alter what's there slightly, we will have an answer soon and it is is good hands with Earthworx working with the crown estate to see what can be done to reduce the issue that caused the closure.
Bikini Line is a relatively new addition to Swinley Forest, opening in August 2023 and is located near the top of the main hill and accessed via the Red Route climb. It’s a short downhill jump line that features a roll-in, a four-pack of tabletop jumps, a shark fin, and a final set of triple jumps. It’s become a favourite for riders looking to session smooth, progressive features with decent flow and airtime.
We’ll keep this post updated as more information becomes available. In the meantime, riders are asked to respect the closure for safety and to support the trail team’s work.
This trail is definitely one of the more progressive tracks at Swinley Forest. While there’s now a lot more choice for technically advanced riders—thanks to the steady development driven by the good folks of Earthworx working in collaboration with the Crown estate—for many, Bikini Line is still the jewel in the crown (no pun intended). We hope it reopens in its former glory soon
Have you got updates or insights about Bikini Line or other Swinley trails? Please share them in the comments or get in touch.
This isn't the end for Bikini, but it is being modified slightly to iron a few bumps out. Going forward there will be a slight difference to the trail, hopefully reducing the issues that caused its closure at the moment.
When it reopens, I'm sure everyone is aware. It will be monitored closely by the crown estate. So let's all do our bit to keep what we are so lucky to have for free in our local forest.
Stop the littering, if you see any pick it up or say something to the ones dropping it.
Stick to the designated push ups.
Enjoy and respect the forest, the trails and others that are using them.
If the trail isn't for you, use the signage at the trail head to find something suitable. There is something for everyone
Bottom line is, please help your local trail spot by keeping an eye on things that shouldn't be happening. We want to keep the trails we are so lucky to have.

Bikini Line update
The works on Bikini have been completed and now waiting for some rain to help finish hardening up the trail surface. Hopefully this weekend/ next week are looking hopeful with some precipitation on the cards meaning we are one step closer to the reopening
There have been a few changes from top to bottom, including:
•Entry berms repositioned to help slow trail speed down coming into the top set of features.
•The top set of jumps have been altered, mellowing transitions but elongated the total length of each one. Made safer for all abilities, but still fun if you know how to have fun
•The old pull out spot has been completely removed along with the push up from it to the top. It's been removed to reduce the footprint of the trail, so an alternate pull out spot has been created on the opposite side.
•The mid section now snakes around the hill side a little more, reducing speed for lower skilled riders but more of a challenge for higher skilled riders to maintain speed for the following features.
•A new rollable hip/cheese wedge, again built as a control factor for speed. Novice riders have a ride around line forcing them to slow right down to make the corner. Mid level riders can hit the feature but will find it a little more tricky to maintain speed into the lower section. Higher skilled riders can boost the feature giving them a perfect line/ speed into the lower set of jumps.
•Finally, the lower set of jumps are more or less the same. All the landings have been reshaped and elongated whilst the take offs are the same/ slightly mellower.
An update of when the trail will be open will be posted real soon. For a good amount of rain this week to get the trail settled and bead in.
When the trail does open and if you see something that could be a problem or behaviour that shouldnt be in the forest, say something or call the wardens. Help protect the trails we are so lucky to have for free on our doorstep.
