Bike Park Chilterns CIC has launched a GoFundMe crowdfunder to help complete the final phase of the Aston Hill Bike Park rebuild, with the project now targeting a summer 2026 opening in the Chilterns, Buckinghamshire.

Where things stand

Significant groundwork has been completed on site over recent months, with corridors cut and infrastructure established across the hillside. The project is now entering the shaping and surfacing stage, with the team working on trail features, trail flow, and all-weather surfacing across the first two trails set to open. Car park clearance and visitor area preparation is also underway.

Professional freerider Harry Gasgoyne has joined the build team to help shape the first two trails, bringing feature-building experience to the project alongside lead builder Ian Warby. Gasgoyne joins fresh from Darkfest.

Why the crowdfunder

Bike Park Chilterns has been funding the rebuild through a mix of community contributions, grants, and commercial partnerships. Several funding streams expected in the first quarter of 2026 have shifted into Q2, and combined with a difficult winter on-site, this has pushed the opening date back slightly. The project is now aiming to open in Summer 2026.

The crowdfunder has a target of £5,000. The team expects the current build phase to take around 12 weeks to complete with sufficient support.

How donations are used

Bike Park Chilterns CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, so all donations go directly into the build. The breakdown from the campaign is as follows:

  • £10 helps keep the build moving and supports day-to-day work on site
  • £25 contributes to shaping and finishing sections of the trail
  • £50 supports feature building and materials for key sections
  • £100 helps push forward major elements of the build, including surfacing and features
  • £250 or more makes a significant impact on accelerating the final phase of the build

What Aston Hill will offer

When open, Aston Hill will provide over 2km of surfaced downhill trails designed to be rideable year-round. Located around 40 miles from London in the Chilterns, the park is intended as a long-term managed facility for gravity riders of all levels, with all revenue reinvested into maintenance and development.

The team has also flagged a major commercial partnership announcement due in May 2026.
