A Busy Week at DMBinS: Advisory Roles, First Tracks 26, and New Strategy Workshops

It has been a busy week for the good folks at DMBinS, so we’ve combined three updates that caught our attention into one post.

DMBinS has opened applications for its advisory committee, launched the next First Tracks programme, and announced new in-person workshops to help shape the 2026–2036 Strategy for Scottish Mountain Biking. Each initiative invites riders, builders, businesses, and community groups to get involved in Scotland’s long-term MTB development.

DMBinS Advisory Committee – Applications Open

DMBinS is recruiting new members for its advisory committee. The group supports the Head of DMBinS and the Scottish Cycling CEO on strategic direction, partnerships, and national MTB development. It’s a voluntary position with expenses covered, meeting four times a year over an initial three-year term. Experience across outdoor recreation, tourism, sustainability, health, education, youth development, and community partnership work is welcomed.

First Tracks 26 – Adventure Tourism Launchpad

Applications are open for First Tracks 26, the next edition of the UK’s first dedicated Adventure Tourism Launchpad. Delivered by DMBinS, South of Scotland Enterprise, and Edinburgh Napier University, the eight-week programme starts on 19 January 2026 and includes weekly business coaching, key skills sessions, and industry insights. It also links into the wider activity ahead of the new MTB Innovation Centre opening in 2027.

DMBinS is holding in-person workshops to gather public input for the Strategy for Scottish Mountain Biking 2026–2036. Riders, trail associations, clubs, volunteers, businesses, and community groups are invited to attend.
