The Mountain Biking in Les Gets & Morzine is legendary, and it is still by far and away the biggest and the best bike and alpine resort in the Alps! The resort plays host to World Cup and World Championship XC and DH competitions and offers an excellent range of bike facilities and trails which are suited to all level of rider. The resort also boasts the largest area of bike trails and the biggest network of ski lifts open to bikers in Europe.
As well as being fantastic for Down hillers with several man made courses featuring berms, banks, tunnels, jumps and northshore, the area also appeals to the Cross Country bikers with a staggering 650kms + of bike trails comprising of Fire Roads and Singletrack riding. Again some of the best Cross Country riding in the Alps. Les Gets is located between Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc mountain range and only one hours drive from Geneva Airport.
We have been living and riding the trails in and around Les Gets for over 10 years. We know the best places to go riding, the best hire shops / repair shops, we offer great accommodation with easy access to all the trails, our Chalet staff ride most days but are always back in time to prepare your evening meal if you are staying with us half board.
There really is something for everyone in Les Gets and Morzine! With 75km of marked mountain bike routes and dedicated lifts for mountain bikers, Les Gets is a truly biking friendly resort. The stunning scenery just adds to the fantastic experience of mountain biking in the Alps.
For the expert & pro level riders there are challenging downhill biking routes and a fantastic bike park to push the most skilled freeride biker. Two great names – Kona and Fabien Barel – have joined forces to create a Freeride Mountain Bike playground! Fabien Barel (twice mountain bike World Champion including here in Les Gets in 2004) is the technical advisor for the Kona Bike Park – an amazing selection of jumps, walls, tabletops and gaps to challenge even the most fearless of freerider!
Les Gets is perfectly formed as a mountain bike resort. With the bike park plus 10 downhill trails to suit every rider – a week just isn’t long enough…. tthere is also an airbag set up in the village for those evenings when you still have the energy for more! It is open at least three evenings a week for your freestyle practice….or maybe just to watch some of the impressive (and not so impressive) freestyle riders! We even have special Big BMX bikes you can use!
Cross country is extremely well catered for with six routes available to suit different skill and fitness levels. Cross country is a fantastic way to improve your fitness and enjoy the mountain scenery from your bike, but if you pick an advanced route beware taking your eyes off the track for too long!
Whichever category you fit into – mountain biking in the beautiful Alpine resort of Les Gets will be an experience you will want to repeat every summer.
