Battle on the Beach 2026

Battle on the Beach 2026 takes place on March 21/22 at Pembrey Country Park in South Wales. It’s billed as the UK’s biggest off-road cycle race and is open to all bikes, mixing fast beach racing with twisting woodland singletrack.

Overview

The event follows the established format: a mass-start race across Cefn Sidan’s hard sand followed by a mix of dune trails and forest singletrack. Riders of all abilities take part, and the venue supports large fields thanks to wide beach sections and flowing inland trails.

Battle in the Dark

Exposure Lights Battle in the Dark runs on Saturday evening and is included in the entry. It uses sections of the main course in a single-lap time trial, with riders starting at 10-second intervals. Prizes are awarded for fastest male, fastest female and every 25th placed rider.

Location

The race is hosted at Pembrey Country Park and the adjoining Cefn Sidan Beach. The area offers a mix of open shoreline, pine woodland and historic remnants including bunkers and former munitions-site infrastructure.
